before the car comes out of its winter storage. Can anybody recommend a mid range sport tire that won't brake the bank??

I have 2 recommendations. First, if you want a summer tire, I had a set of Falken AAA rated summer tires on my Acura. They were super sticky, worked great on dry and wet roads, and had a really nice tread design. I could do amazing things in that car with those tires. They only worked when it was warm though so as soon as it got cold for the season, the snow tires came out. Sounds like that wouldn't be a problem for you.

If you want an all-season tire, I say get Michelin Pilots.

I'll check out the Falken's, not a big fan of Michelin. Thanks Chad.

I've gone through so many brands with little to no luck when it comes to wear and noise i gave up. All the reviews so far speak highly of the Falken.

The Falkens I had were very quiet, especially considering that I had them on 18" rims on my '98 Acura CL 3.0. I had them for the last three years that I owned the car. Being that I only used them in summer, I guess it's really only like a year and a half of use on them, but they still had very deep treads and stayed very round with no wobbles. I think they wore extremely well considering the type of driving I did. The tread pattern was the same as the ones you mentioned. It's a very aggressive tread design that looks great on sport cars.

I found a place on line with some good prices but the shipping seems high so i will have to check the local shops and compare. The shipping is $75 ups ground from CA for all four tires.

I bought mine here:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do

Free shipping with every order. I believe I paid about $110 per tire and then had my local garage mount and balance them. You can have this place ship the tires right to your garage.

YIKES! I just did a google search on them since their site doesn't specify if shipping is free or charged. I found that they do charge for shipping but the results came back with a bunch of very bad reports about their customer service.

That's not good news. I may just buy local if they come close to the online price or find another vendor. That's ok i have a couple of months before the season starts.
